The Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry has announced the lifting of curfew and restoration of regular routine in all cities of the country from Sunday morning.

According to a statement from the Saudi Interior Ministry, the lockdown will be completely lifted from 6 am on Sunday, June 21, and routine will be restored, however, security measures will be strictly enforced.

According to officials, restrictions on barber shops and beauty parlors have also been lifted and from June 21, everyone will be allowed to work as a precautionary measure.

According to the statement, Umrah and Ziarat will remain suspended while international flights will be banned from entering the country and gatherings of more than 50 people will be banned until further notice.

The public has been warned by the Interior Ministry that violations of the coronavirus will result in prescribed penalties.

It should be noted that the Saudi government had announced a partial curfew from March 23 to curb the coronavirus, after which the lockdown was relaxed across the country from May 31 and congregational prayers were offered in mosques along with the regulations. Permission has been granted while employees of public and private institutions have also returned to work.

Coronavirus continues to spread rapidly worldwide

Coronavirus cases are on the rise in Saudi Arabia, with 3,941 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, while 46 people have died. The total number of people infected with coronavirus in Saudi Arabia has exceeded 154,000, while 1230 people have died.
