Jhelum: Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has said that the issue of obtaining oil from Saudi Arabia on late payment has been settled.
Talking to media in Jhelum, Shaukat Tareen said that Saudi Arabia would facilitate Pakistan with $150 million per month which will amount to a collective $3.6 billion worth in two years.
Shaukat Tareen said the money would be used to buy oil.
This news comes after the price of petroleum products in the country has risen to up to Rs8.82.
In May, according to Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary, Saudia Arabia had agreed to provide oil to Pakistan on deferred payments. This came after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to the country and a request regarding this.
It may be recalled that in 2019, crude oil was provided to Pakistan by the Saudi government on late payment.
