SCO Summit | Premiers of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan & Belarus Arrive in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Zhaparov, has reached Pakistan for the meeting of the Council of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Petroleum Minister Musadik Masood Malik welcomed the distinguished guest at Noor Khan Air Base. Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the SCO Summit will further strengthen relations between the two countries. When PM Zhaparov arrived at Islamabad Airport, to attend the SCO Summit in Islamabad, he was welcomed in a traditional manner. At the airport, the children presented him with flower bouquets. Later, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan was transported to his hotel under strict security.

Also arriving in Islamabad for the SCO Summit, the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko was welcomed at the Islamabad International Airport by Pakistan’s Minister of Law, Nazir Tarar.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov has also reached Pakistan. Federal Minister of Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui welcomed the distinguished guest on his arrival in Pakistan. On the other hand, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan welcomed the distinguished guest, Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda of Tajikistan, at the Islamabad International Airport.

It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is representing the host-country Pakistan while the Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov are participating in the SCO Summit. Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet Chairman Akylbek Japarov, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar are also participating in the SCO meeting. On the other hand, Mongolia is participating as an observer, represented by the Prime Minister of Mongolia. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Rashid Meredov is representing Turkmenistan as a special guest.

Other guests of the SCO meeting include SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, Director Executive Committee SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Ruslan Mirzaev, Chairman Board of SCO Business Council Atif Ikram Shaikh and Council of SCO Interbank Union Chairman Marat Yelibayev is included. Foreign leaders arriving in Islamabad to participate in the SCO meeting will continue today, after which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will host a dinner in honor of the guests.
