ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz has said that hosting the Summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Pakistan is a historic initiative.

Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, said that the SCO Summit will play an important role in the development and prosperity of the region. Talking about her father, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the CM said that the former PM’s vision helped to bring Pakistan out of its international isolation and gave it a strong diplomatic position. She added that the PM in office, Shehbaz Sharif, has worked tirelessly for effective diplomacy, I pay tribute.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit is a golden opportunity for countries in the region to promote mutual cooperation and bilateral trade. At the forum, there will be an opportunity to adopt common strategies on important issues like climate change, economy, terrorism and extremism.

It should be noted that the 23rd summit meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization is starting today in the federal capital, Islamabad. Pakistan is hosting the SCO meeting. Prime Ministers of eight countries including Pakistan will participate in the meeting.
