SECP data leak, action against Arsalan Zafar, Court gives big order

ISLAMABAD: According to Baaghi TV, hearing held on the petition against the data leak inquiry of Additional Director SECP, Arsalan Zafar.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has extended the stay order against Arsalan Zafar till October 27. The hearing was presided over by the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Athar Minallah. Arsalan Zafar has challenged the formation of the inquiry committee and the report of the inquiry committee.
The SECP counsel told the court that the reply was ready and would be submitted soon. The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Athar Minallah, said, “This information should not be made public. Submit your written answer in the light of this question.”
The Additional Director SECP has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court, challenging the issuance of show cause notice for leaking data related to family business of the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information, Lt. Gen. (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
Muhammad Arsalan Zafar, Additional Director, SECP, sought annulment of the inquiry committee set up to probe the data leak. In the petition filed in the court, the petitioner said that on September 9, he was sent on forced leave and the laptop was confiscated. On September 14, a detailed response to the investigation into the data leak was submitted to the Inquiry Committee. Additional Joint Director IT Haroon Al-Rasheed’s participation in the inquiry committee is against the rules, the report of the inquiry committee is against the facts and based on possibilities.

In the light of the investigation report, the inquiry committee set up to investigate the show cause note and SECP data leak should be declared null and void.
