Secretary General of Journalists’ Union receives death threats

Lahore, 30th March: Secretary General of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has recently received death threats from a gangster.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Rana Muhammad Azeem, the secretary general of PFUJ received death threats after he exposed a mafia network.

As per reports, a couple of days back, Rana Muhammad in his recent interview on 92 News Channel revealed some ugly facts about a mafia network, after which he received threats from the mob.

On March 26, 2021, his statement was originally published on ifj.org.

The journalist’s union reported on March 26 that their Secretary General received a death threat from a mobster after Rana exposed some secrets of that group on a talk-show at 92 News Channel.

According to earlier reports, on February 28, the Karachi-based Urdu newspaper Jang had published a court notice against Rana Muhammad Azeem accusing the PFUJ Secretary General of criminal conduct.

The union has pointed out that threats to working journalists have become common in Pakistan and they accuse the government for not providing security to the journalists.
