Lahore, 1st march: PPP leader Yousaf Raza Gillani has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to vote for him in Senate elections.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to vote for him in the upcoming Senate elections which are being held two days later.

Gillani is contesting the Senate seat from the PDM’s platform in the upcoming polls on the Islamabad seat against Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance. Gilani has written a letter to all lawmakers to support him in the election.

As per reports, Gilani sent the same letter addressed to members of the National Assembly and to the prime minister, asking for support for his candidacy.

As per the contents of the letter, the PPP leader has asked lawmakers to vote for him, keeping in mind his character and politics.

According to reports, before the Senate polls, the PDM had announced that the alliance was on one page regarding the nomination of Gillani as its candidate from Islamabad.

Gillani has been actively campaigning to win the upcoming elections.

The PPP and other political parties have expressed confidence that the government will lose the upcoming Senate elections.

However, according to reports, in the 341st House, Yousuf Raza Gilani and Hafeez Sheikh will need 171 votes to win. The ruling coalition has 181 members while the opposition coalition has 160 members.

Mr Gilani will have to break 11 members of the government to win, which seems very difficult. Contrary to political predictions, Hafeez Sheikh will win easily.
