The Senate passed a resolution unanimously acknowledging the recent decision of Sri Lankan government, their Cricket Board and team to continue tour of Pakistan despite reported security concerns.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar moved the resolution in the House which noted the exemplary courage, professionalism and goodwill demonstrated by Sri Lankan players and officials.
The resolution recognized the historic and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
It commended the relevant ministries for ensuring comprehensive security arrangements and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to hosting international events in a safe and secure environment.
The House has now been adjourned to meet again tomorrow at 10:30 in the morning.
