Lahore, 24th March: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood announced on Wednesday that schools in Punjab and KP will remain closed till April 11 keeping in view the increasing number of coronavirus cases in these provinces.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, after an important meeting of the federal and provincial education and health ministers at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Shafqat Mahmood made the announcement to the media.

Mahmood also informed that the government will meet with representatives of the Cambridge International Examinations board, which holds O and A-Levels examinations, to see whether the exams can be postponed or not.

Meanwhile, he announced that the exams held by local boards will go ahead as scheduled.
