Shahbaz Ahmed appointed as Deputy GM PIA, Sports Division

Former Pakistan hockey captain and legendary forward, Shahbaz Ahmed, has been appointed as the Deputy General Manager Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Sports Division.

According to the details, the appointment was made in the context of PIA’s hockey team not participating in the 66th National Championship due to lack of preparation. Before Shahbaz Senior, Olympian Shahid Ali Khan was the manager and coach of the PIA team.

However, Shahid Ali Khan is on leave abroad for personal reasons.

The former Pakistan hockey captain has previously been the Secretary General of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and also been the captain of the 1994 World Cup and Champions Trophy winning team.

Chief executive officer (CEO) PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik, extends best wishes to Shahbaz Senior and hopes that Shahbaz will pass on his experience and fighting spirit to the new generation.
