ISLAMABAD, August 08 (Online Int’l): The go-slow policy of the opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has jeopardised the holding of the All Parties Conference by the opposition.

PPP has sought a clear reply from PML-N that it should be informed whether Shahbaz Sharif stands  with the opposition or he is siding with the establishment and does not want to hold an APC. Sources said that even the agenda of the APC has not been worked out, what to speak of setting of a date. The main reason behind it is that the two major parties PML-N and PPP are not on one page. Therefore, the APC has been further delayed.

Sources said the PPP has started considering holding an important meeting with other parties in addition to the PML-N. The PPP has started to mull over future strategy in the backdrop of silence from the PML-N. According to PPP sources the PML-N had held out assurance to convene an APC after Eid ul Azha. PML-N is still silent over this matter even after Eid.

Sources added that PPP has started considering convening an APC. They are mulling over calling an APC and inviting the PML-N to participate in it. The ball will then be in the PMLN’s court.

PPP sources said that if the APC is not held then an important meeting will be held with other opposition parties. PML-N has not given a clear response with reference to the APC so far. They are now considering contacting Mian Nawaz Sharif in the prevailing situation because Shahbaz Sharif is in contact with the institutions which matter. He has not given his opinion on any matter including launching a movement against the government and tabling a no trust move against it. The APC agenda could not be evolved. PML-N leaders are also in quandary over this dilly-dallying policy of Shahbaz Sharif.
