Shahid Afridi delivers the most expensive spell of PSL history

Quetta Gladiator’s all-rounder and former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, also known as ‘Boom Boom’, has bowled the worst over in the history of Pakistan Super League (PSL) against Islamabad United at the National Stadium, Karachi.

According to the details, the match against Islamabad United in Karachi proved to be a nightmare for the Quetta Gladiators bowlers as United scored 229 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Shahid Afridi who is playing his last season in the PSL took one wicket in his four overs and got hit for 67 runs which turned out to be the most expensive bowling figure in the history of the tournament.

New Zealand batter Colin Munro smashed three sixes in his first over, while Azam Khan hit two sixes in his third, and three in his fourth over before Shahid Afridi finally picked his wicket.

It should be noted that this was Afridi’s first match of his farewell PSL, as he missed the initial games due to COVID-19. Earlier, the most expensive spell in the history of PSL was made by Zafar Gohar of Islamabad United who had scored 65 runs against Peshawar Zalmi last season.

It is pertinent to mention here that this is Shahid Afridi’s last season in the Pakistan Super League and he has so far represented all the teams in PSL except Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.
