Shaniera Akram and Shehzad Roy oppose hanging culprits
Baaghi TV: Leading singer and social activist of Pakistan music industry Shehzad Roy says that he is against the public execution of the accused involved in the rape cases. Shehzad Roy tweeted on social networking site Twitter that he has done a lot to protect children from sexual exploitation and corporal punishment.
I hav done a lot to save kids from sexual abuse & corporal punishment. Rapists,child molesters or criminals like them should b punished with ful force of law.I am against giving any punishment publicly. Do you want our young kids to see bodies hanging on chowks,choraha & markets?

In another tweet, the singer wrote that those who are calling for the public execution of criminals should not forget that violence itself breeds violence and we have many investigative reports on it.
On the other hand, Wasim Akram’s wife and social activist Shaniera Akram wrote in her Twitter message that public execution of the accused involved in the incidents of rape is not a way to get rid of these serious problems.

“If we want a safe and civilized society in our country, we have to get out of this dark age and for that we need to work harder as a nation,” Shaniera said.
She further added that there is a need to work hard as a people and demand better protection of our women and children.
It should be noted that a few days ago, a horrific incident of gang rape of a woman on the Lahore Motorway and before that, after the rape and burning of a 5-year-old girl in Karachi, a series of other incidents in the country. While people and celebrities are expressing their grief and anger, people belonging to the showbiz are also constantly raising their voices against this atrocity and are demanding severe punishment for the accused and public execution. Some people are also publicly opposed to the execution.
