Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra’s much anticipated upcoming film ‘Jabariya Jodi’ might have faced a few delays in the release, but right now, the rom-com is definitely hitting screens on August 9, 2019.

The film was supposed to hit the screens on May 17, but the release was pushed to July 12. Later, the film which was slated to release on August 2, has been postponed to another date. There have been queries on when the first theatrical trailer of Jabariya Jodi will be launched.

The makers have taken this decision because many films are releasing on August 2 and previously released ‘JudgeMentall Hai Kya’ is running good at the theatres.

Prominent exhibitors across the country came together and requested the makers to extend the release date to avoid any clash with other movies.

Directed by Prashant Singh, “Jabariya Jodi” is based on ‘Pakadwa Vivah’ (forced marriage), which was once rampant in Bihar.

The movie is said to be based on the tradition of groom kidnapping, where grooms are kidnapped so that dowry system gets stopped. The concept looks quite interesting, but then again, this is a Bollywood film.
