Karachi police foiled a major terror plot in the city and arrested six people linked with the Research Analysis Wing (RAW), an Indian intelligence agency.

According to media sources, a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fida Hussain Janwari addressed a press conference in Karachi by saying that six accused belonged to the banned separatist organization ‘Brass’, which is backed by the Indian intelligence agency.

According to SSP Fida Hussain, the accused include Sher Khan, Karim Baksh alias Baggal, Dilshad, Moran Khan alias Mollu, Dar Khan and Amir Baksh alias Nari.

He said that one rocket launcher, five grenades, six Ivan bombs, three Kalashnikov and 1000 bullets were recovered from the possession of the accused while three 9 mm pistols with bullets and explosives were also seized during the raid.

According to the SSP, the arrested people have revealed the plan of a major attack in Karachi while they have been involved in attacks on Army convoys, Frontier Constabulary and Levies in Balochistan.

He added that the banned separatist group had the support of Indian intelligence agency RAW, which trained and funded them. Moreover, the police department said that a strong network of suspects was being run from Afghanistan.
