A walk was taken out from the foreign office in Islamabad today in connection with Black Day to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
People belonging to different walks of life including officers of various ministries including Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference participated in the walk.
The participants carried banners and posters with slogans condemning Indian atrocities and expressing support for the Kashmiri people. Pakistani and Kashmiri flags were also prominently displayed during the walk.
Addressing the participants of the walk at D-Chowk, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam paid glowing tributes to the valour and resolve of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said India has failed to suppress the voice of Kashmiri people. He said about one hundred thousand Kashmiri people have embraced martyrdom in IIOJK while the prisons of occupying forces are filled with Kashmiri youth.
The Minister for Kashmir Affairs said Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan. He said Pakistan has always raised voice for the Kashmiri people and it will continue to do so in future. He emphasized that resolution of Kashmir dispute is imperative for regional peace and stability.
In his remarks on the occasion, Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon said India must end its occupation of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has forcefully presented the case of Kashmiri people at the forum of United Nations.
Leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Farooq Rehmani called upon India to withdraw its forces from the occupied territory. He said the Kashmiri people want to determine their own future, urging the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions that recognize the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.
