The SnowShoe Federation of India (SSFI) successfully conducted a preparatory coaching camp in Srinagar for the Indian SnowShoe Team that will represent the country at the World SnowShoe Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Brillion, Wisconsin, USA.

The training camp was organized around the scenic Dal Lake, where the selected athletes — Akshir Singh Kush, Karan Sharma, Yashveer Singh, Ankit Khokhar, Hardic, Puneet Singh, and Mattu Sumit — underwent intensive training sessions under the guidance of the Federation’s qualified coaches.

The sessions focused on enhancing endurance, technique, and adaptability required for snowshoe running under varied climatic and terrain conditions. The team was accompanied by Harish Kumar, who is serving as the Team Manager.

“This camp is an essential part of our athletes’ preparation for the World Championship. The team has shown commendable commitment and fitness levels, and we are confident that they will make India proud at the global stage in Wisconsin. As the members mostly belong to plains, they need such type of preparations and conditioning “, SowShoe Federation statement quoted its official.

“The final preparatory camp will be held in the first week of December, prior to the team’s departure for the United States,” statement further said.
