WASHINGTON: U.S. scientists have identified a 66-million-year-old rock as the egg of a reptile.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, scientists were also surprised to know the fact that millions of years old sea rock equal to the size of a football from the snow-covered region of Antarctica.
Scientists at the University of Texas at Austin have claimed that the rock, which is about the size of a football, is in fact the egg of a reptile that can grow up to 7 meters in length.
According to media reports, the stone was discovered in 2011 but scientists failed to find out the truth of the stone, so the authorities named it ‘The Thing’ and put it in a public museum.
According to foreign media, nine years later, archaeologist Julia Clark has claimed that this rock, the size of a football, is actually the egg of a huge reptile that can grow up to seven meters long.
According to media reports, the stone is 28 cm long and 18 cm wide.
