Strengthening Pakistan's Governance: Addressing Policy Weaknesses | Baaghi TV

Policy planning is paramount for charting the future course of a country across various domains. It encompasses developmental priorities, foreign relations, skill development initiatives, and economic strategies. These plans must remain consistent despite changes in political leadership, grounded in strategic foresight rather than short-term political whims.

While the scope of strategic planning is vast, let’s delve into three critical areas to underscore the significance of coherent policies. First and foremost, foreign policy demands a proactive approach. In countries cognizant of shifting global dynamics, consultations with experts and analysts are routine, leading to the formulation of comprehensive strategies. Recent global events such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing crisis in Gaza, likelihood of settlement between Saudi Arab & Israel necessitate a nuanced approach. However, in Pakistan, foreign policies often oscillate unpredictably, subject to the inclinations of transient political authorities.

Conversely, the UAE has recalibrated its foreign policy objectives to prioritize diplomacy and trade initiatives over military intervention, emphasizing global trade partnerships and regional stability.

Secondly, skill development emerges as a pivotal concern. Effective policies should ensure accessible vocational training programs, steering individuals away from degrees that offer limited or no employment prospects. Engaging with educated youth in meticulous discussions can facilitate the formulation of short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategies to address this issue.

Thirdly, collaboration with diverse business stakeholders is imperative to devise income-enhancing policies while adhering to international financial obligations. The escalation of domestic debt over the past decade underscores the urgency for comprehensive economic strategies. Involving economists across various sectors is essential for crafting sustainable solutions.

It is evident that Pakistan cannot afford to prioritize populism over prudent governance. Embracing strategic foresight and inclusive policymaking processes is indispensable for navigating complex challenges and fostering sustainable development.

Credit must be given to the author for giving a blueprint how to govern efficiently transparently
and smoothly for running the affairs of our country but most unfortunate thing is our economic
and administrative shoguns and mandarins including legislatures are in a deep slumber so they must
read it and implement it. Hats off to the writer for her realistic and rationale approach how to come
out of this political and economic mess by systematic planning. Kudos and Shabbash!!

Pleased to read sensible suggestions like prudent governance that’s not driven by populism.
Skill development is certainly a need of the day to convert our useless population to useful ones in line with the market demands from Japan to ME, EU and Americas as well as for domestic use too.
