Lahore, 29th March: With the alarming increase in the coronavirus cases in Punjab, the provincial government reimposes restrictions to contain the spread of the virus.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, Punjab Government has decided to put stringent measures in the province after a continuous surge in COVID-19 cases.
A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on COVID situation was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday to take decision regarding strict lockdown in the province.
As per sources, it was decided in the meeting to ban wedding ceremonies, both indoor and outdoor from April 1st in Punjab.
It has also been ordered that all markets and shopping malls will be closed at 6 pm in the province.
Furthermore, the Orange Line Metro Train and Metro Bus services will also be closed at 6 pm.
It was also decided in the meeting that dine-in services at the restaurant will be banned and all public parks will be shut down.
Baaghi TV reported on Sunday that an important meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was held yesterday during which it was decided that all kinds of gatherings will be banned with immediate effect.
It is to be noted that sources from Punjab Health department have reported that the positivity rate of coronavirus cases in Lahore has reached 23% while the situation is deteriorating further. There have been more than 112,000 cases of coronavirus and more than 2,500 deaths in Lahore.
