Residents of Quetta accumulated outside SSGC office to protest against the spiked gas bills for the month of June.

People reported that the company did not issue them bills in the month of June. The latest bills which they received have escalated prices. They further complained that the billing amount does not match with their monthly household gas consumption.

Earlier this month, several consumers complained that the KE had sent them hefty bills for last month.

One of the complainants said he was issued a Rs27,000 bill by the KE against Rs7,000 average bill in summers.

Another consumer said he got a Rs15,000 bill this month while his last month’s electricity bill was around Rs6,000. “Is this the relief the power utility has given its consumers during the coronavirus pandemic?” he said.
