Superior judiciary should take notice of video scandal: PM

PM Imran Khan has said that his government must avoid becoming party to the alleged confessions of Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik and superior judiciary should take notice of the matter.

According to reports of Baaghitv, the Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked his party officials to refrain from becoming a party to the scandal which has been broken by PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz. She has released a video in which there is alleged confessions of accountability court judge Arshad Malik, that he convicted Nawaz Sharif under duress. However, he directed the media managers to give a befitting reply to opposition for ‘daring to attack state institutions’.

He asked superior judiciary to take notice of the matter as judiciary is independent and bed-rock of democracy. “Judiciary is free and independent, [and therefore] it should take notice of the matter,” he said while chairing a meeting of the government spokespersons in the federal capital on Monday.

The meeting chaired by PM Imran Khan reviewed the political situation of country in the wake of video released by PML-N supremo Maryam Nawaz at a press conference in Lahore on Saturday.
