Supreme Judicial Council: Reference filed against SC 8-member bench on oath violation

A reference has been filed by a lawyer Mia Dawood in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the 8-memeber bench of Supreme Court headed by CJP Bandial for alleged mis conduct and attacking Parliament by suspending the judicial reforms bill through an order.

The reference claimed that Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial violated his oath, constitution and code of conduct also, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Justice Muneeb, Justice Mazahir Naqvi illegally involved themselves in the assembly election dispute.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Bandyal refused to accept the majority verdict in the election automatic notice case.

Chief Justice Umar Attabandial has committed the worst misuse of administrative powers. Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial is the key responsible for the formation of all controversial benches.

SC Chief Justice Bandyal was found guilty of violating the Al-Jihad Trust and Malik Asad case by appointing junior judges to the Supreme Court. All eight judges, including Chief Justice Bandyal, failed to uphold high standards of honest character and eight judges including Chief Justice Bandyal also failed to implement the principle of conflict of interest.

 

The plaintiff prayed SCP to remove all eight judges from their posts.
