Wednesday, July 1st: According to a report by Baaghi TV, Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Lal Malhi has said that it is unfortunate for a citizen of Islamabad to approach the judiciary to stop the construction of a temple in the federal capital.
Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Lal Malhi said in a statement that Pakistan’s constitution and law guarantee the rights of minorities, Pakistan is a multi-religious country and all Pakistanis have an equal right to it. The construction of the temple will benefit not only the Hindu community living in Islamabad but also Hindus and other tourists coming to Islamabad from all over the world.
Lal Malhi said that the construction of Krishna Temple in Islamabad is being opposed by those who are against the soft image of Pakistan. Those elements are also against the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The founder of Pakistan had clearly said that you are free to go to your temples. You are free to go to your mosques and to any of your places of worship in the state of Pakistan. You belong to any religion, caste or race. The state has nothing to do with it.
Lal Malhi said that the CDA had allotted a 4 kanal plot in H-9/2 for Krishna Temple on the direction of the National Commission for Human Rights in 2017 by allotting it to the Hindu Panchayat Islamabad. In addition to the temple plot, plots have been allotted to the Christian and Parsi communities to build their places of worship.

Lal Malhi said that he was confident that the esteemed court would not only declare the petition inadmissible but would also impose a fine on the petitioner for wasting valuable court time.
It should be noted that the foundation stone of the first temple was laid in the federal capital Islamabad. In 2017, on the orders of the National Commission for Human Rights, the CDA allotted a four-marla plot to the Hindu Panchayat of Islamabad for the construction of the temple. Work has begun on infrastructure and four walls.
