LADAKH (Baaghi TV) – October 7, 2025: The situation remains tense in the Ladakh region of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as authorities continue to enforce strict restrictions in Leh and Kargil districts, with mobile internet services suspended and security forces heavily deployed.
According to local sources, dozens of residents have been detained during ongoing search and arrest operations, creating an atmosphere of fear and unrest across the region. The deployment of Indian troops has further heightened public anxiety, with reports of raids on homes and offices of civil society representatives.

Local organisations — the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) and the Leh Apex Body (LAB) — have rejected the Ladakh administration’s announcement of a magisterial inquiry into recent civilian casualties. Both groups are demanding a judicial investigation into the incident, describing the probe as an attempt to divert attention from state repression.
Leaders of both organisations have also boycotted talks proposed by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs. “The people of Ladakh are facing the same oppression and atrocities that have long been inflicted on the people of Kashmir and Manipur,” said KDA leader Sajjad Kargali, calling for accountability and restoration of civil rights.

Meanwhile, calls for the release of detained protesters, including prominent environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, are growing across India. Students, rights groups, and activists have staged demonstrations in multiple cities, denouncing what they describe as “state-sponsored repression” and the suppression of democratic freedoms.
Human rights defenders have demanded an immediate end to arbitrary detentions, warning that the continued crackdown in Ladakh undermines democratic values and violates international human rights standards.
