Concerning the deployment of about hundred US soldiers alongside the THAAD system, President Joe Biden said it is meant to help Israel defend itself. In response to reporters’ questions last week, Biden said that he had a good understanding of how and when Israel would attack Iran. Biden reportedly added that he could see an opportunity to end the back-and-forth strikes between Iran and Israel.

It is pertinent to mention that the US has been urging Israel to gauge its response to avoid triggering further escalations/war in the Middle East.
