Special permits granted for 21 more flights to PIA, thanks to special efforts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, last night the CEO of PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik, had asked the Prime Minister to play a role in resolving the people’s grievances related to pricing and overcrowding.
After using high-level diplomatic means, only PIA was allowed to issue more flights exclusively.
Most of the stays, which are due to expire on September 30, caused an unusual rush to PIA offices and agents. Some elements took advantage of the situation and started selling tickets at expensive rates.
The CEO of PIA took notice of the matter, published the original fare and sought permission for more flights. PIA has 23 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia from various cities in Pakistan, with a capacity of 12,000 people. Operating 13 more flights, keeping in view the rules of social distance, created a further capacity of 3500, much less than the demand.
With the addition of 21 more flights to the system with the intervention of the Prime Minister, the capacity of PIA has increased to 25,500. All passengers expected leave for Saudi Arabia before September 30th.
PIA has already requested Saudi officials to double its flights for the month of October.
“Special thanks to President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Minister of Aviation, Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary”, said CEO PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik.
“At a time when our compatriots were in deep trouble, the role of the Prime Minister will make it easier for them to go to Saudi Arabia for employment”, he added.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, PIA is in talks with the Foreign Ministry to talk to Saudi officials about extending the stay, the PIA CEO said. In every difficult hour, PIA stands side by side with the nation, that is why the nation also turns to PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik.
