The federal budget passed by a majority in the National Assembly

Baaghi TV: The process of clause-wise approval of Finance Bill 21-2020 has been completed under the chairmanship of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser. During the approval of the budget, all the movements of the opposition have been rejected. Following the approval of the budget, the Speaker adjourned the National Assembly till 11 am on Tuesday.

After the National Assembly, the budget will be approved by the Senate, after which the President will sign it. The government had presented the budget for the next financial year in the National Assembly on June 12, which amounts to Rs 71.37 trillion. No new taxes have been imposed in the budget. The budget estimates government revenue at Rs 4,963 billion and Rs 1,610 billion in non-tax revenue from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), with a deficit of Rs 3,437 billion.

It is to be noted that the government had completed the preparations for passing the budget together with the allied parties while there was a strong protest from the opposition.
