Lahore: “The ideal life of the Companions is a beacon for us”, said Allama Abdul Shakur Haqqani, Allama Hasnain Mousavi in Baaghi TV’s Rehmat Hee Rehmat sahoor transmission, powered by Q-Mobile.

According to reports, the real meanings of Sahabi are companion and it is a permanent and important term of Islam. The term Sahabi applies to those who have been honored by the companionship of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and have passed away in the state of faith.

Just as Allah Almighty chose Khair al-Bashir (peace be upon him) for the position of Prophethood, so He chose the best people of the time for the companionship of the Prophet (SAW). In this sense, it is fair to say that the Companions (RA) had a double choice. One is the choice of God, which Allah made for His last Prophet (SAW), the other is the choice of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) who helped him in fulfilling the great mission of glorifying the religion of God. In the same way, another very high, and unique honor was bestowed on the companions of the Prophet (SAW) by Allah, just as the revelation from Adam (AS) to the Messenger (SAW). The Holy Prophet (SAW) has superiority over the millions of Prophets who were sent before him.

In the same way, the Companions of the Prophet (SAW) also have superiority over the companions of these millions of Prophets. That is, the rank, position and glory that Allah gave to His last Prophet (SAW) and his companions (RA). No other prophet and his companions have been blessed with it before, which is why, today, it can be said with full confidence that except the Holy Prophets, the Companions (RA) are the greatest human beings in the universe. The highest rank in character and personality, and the Creator of the universe himself made the choice.

Even if the splendor, majesty of the Companions and their divine choice are examined from a rational and logical point of view, it is clear that the way Allah (swt) created the times He chose the best time in terms of time, the best region of the world in terms of birth, and the best language in the world and full of eloquence and rhetoric, and as the Lord of the Universe chose the Holy Prophet (SAW). He also gave the job of managing the Masjid-e-Nabawi to a nation whose generosity, hospitality and kindness had spread all over the world. Likewise, the best human beings on the planet should be chosen for the companionship of the Prophet (SAW).

The Companions (RA) were well aware of their divine choice. That is why, they did not spare any effort in fulfilling the right of this great reward, benevolence and blessing from the Creator of the universe, and set such wonderful examples of self-sacrifice that, after reading them, the believers’ faith will experience waves of refreshment and will continue to rise till the Day of Resurrection. Look at the extremes of restraint, patience and endurance of these mercenaries and loyalists: some of them had their necks cut in wars; others had their bodies ripped to shreds; while some scorched on burning coals and desert sand; others passed through the furnace of the trials of life, wealth, love and trust; and others experienced poverty, starvation, and hardship. Some of them sacrificed their homeland, property, passions and somewhere in the history of mankind, the great history of sacrifice like Mokhawat Madina was made.

Undoubtedly, the Companions had so pleased the Creator of the universe with their selflessness, fidelity, and their humility that Allah, in His Book, declared their character to be ideal for human beings till the Day of Judgment. There are many Qur’anic verses and hadiths in the Manqabat of the Companions. In fact, the entire Qur’an is a practical interpretation of the personality and conduct of Mustafa (SAW) and the personality and conduct of the Companions (RA). Although there is a detailed description of the greatness, rank and glory of the Companions in the Qur’an and the hadiths, but due to the terms of brevity and restriction of words, the meaning of a few verses and a few specific hadiths are sufficient in this regard and will have to do.

These are some of the ways in which Allah (swt) has described the glory of the Companions (RA) of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the Qur’an.
