The moon of Muharram sighted today
Lahore, 20th August: The moon of Muharram has appeared tonight and Ashura will be on Sunday, August 30.
According to reports, the moon of Muharram 1442 AH has been seen across the country. Tomorrow on Friday it will be 1st of Muharram and Ashura will be on Sunday, August 30.
According to details, a meeting of the Ruwet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman to observe the month of Muharram, in which officials of Meteorological Department and Ministry of Religious Affairs participated.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, chairman of the Ruwet-e-Hilal Committee, announced the appearance of the new moon for the month of Muharram after receiving evidence from across the country at the meeting.
The Ruwet-e-Hilal Committee also had the services of an astronomer while the meetings of the zonal committees were held in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. In addition, strict security arrangements are being made across the country during Muharram.
