In the US state of Hawaii, a newlywed couple has been fined heavily for harassing a sea cat (monk cell). 

According to the American media, a woman who was coming to celebrate her honeymoon in the US state of Hawaii touched the sea cat on the island and also made a video.

The woman shared the video made with the sea on Tik Tok but a user from there he downloaded it and shared it on Instagram, which went viral, drawing the attention of the concerned authorities to the issue.

As can be seen in the viral video, the woman is pictured with the sea cat and touches it, which the cat also tried to attack, and when the couple backed away, the sea cat returned to its place The video was watched by more than 60,000 people.

The Marine and Environmental Protection Agency has fined a couple for disturbing a sea cat. The newlyweds from Louisiana are upset over the notices and fines taken by the authorities.According to US media, the couple could face a fine of up to  50 dollar and five years in prison under Hawaii state law.

The husband of the woman who teased the sea cat told the local newspaper that there was no warning board on the island and that is why his wife was playing with him. We had no intention of harassing anyone or breaking the law.

According to the NOAA, the Hawaiian standard cell is one of the most endangered species on the planet and has about 1,400 species found on all of Hawaii’s islands.
