The former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has allegedly convicted several opposition figures while repeatedly rewarding his allies. The case of the Khusro family is one such example. According to the report of Baaghi TV, Imran Khan has politically victimized opposition parties on the grounds of accountability. However, his selective accountability enabled his allies to reign freely, with little or no accountability. When it came to rewarding his allies, the stakes were very high. While his political rivals were incarnated, the case of Khusro family was given carte blanche, among many others.
Advocate Raees Muhammad Abid is fighting a legal battle against the corruption of the Khusro family. He is set to expose their alleged corruption. He has filed various cases in NAB, FIA, Election Commission, and Lahore High Court.
In 2018, Former Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar and Former Provincial Minister for Finance, Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, filed a criminal application in NAB Multan regarding assets exceeding income. Rehman pleaded guilty to Rs 100 billion. A reference was due to be filed, and an arrest was due. However, the case was transferred from Multan to Lahore by DG NAB.
Ninety days later, after the dissolution of the government, the pending inquiry report is still not submitted. So the question arises, why has NAB still not filed references against the formal federal ministers? Why was the court order violated? The people of Rahim Yar Khan demand an answer.
The plaintiff also filed a contempt court petition in the Lahore High Court against the NAB for not filing a reference and not accepting the court order. The petition said that the contempt petition is scheduled to be heard in the Lahore High Court on July 18. That DG NAB Lahore will be summoned for inquiry about the pending report.
The Makhdoom Khusro Family allegedly owns six sugar mills that are not legally claimed. According to the NA report, four stakeholders are reported. Khusro Bakhtiyar, Monis Elahi and Makhdoom Umar Shehryar are among four of them. Hashim Bakht Chaudhry Munir is also a stakeholder. ARY is a five-member sugar group.
34% of the illegal subsidy in sugar was taken by former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, RYK, Ittehad Sugar Mill, Shah Taj Sugar Mills, Two Star Sugar Mill, and SW Sugar. Mill, Kamalia Sugar Mill. They not only illegally took subsidies but also did money laundering. An application has been filed to the FIA in this regard, and it has been two years since it was registered, but no action has been taken. When Pervez Elahi was the Chief Minister, he approved a mill that was not a sugar mill but is still being used as a sugar mill by Makhdoom Omar Shehryar and two in the front.
When Khusro Makhdoom was the minister, it was informed that there was a demand for 28 mm tons of wheat in Pakistan. Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar was permitted to export wheat due to bribery and corruption. When wheat was exported, there was a wheat crisis in the country.
The Pandora paper also names all the Khusro families, including their offshore companies and assets. They total up to 700 million USD in a Swiss account. Again, details are mentioned in the Pandora paper.
An appeal against the decision of the Election Commission is pending in the Supreme Court. He has appealed for disqualification as he has hidden his assets. Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan has also been requested to take action against him.
The court directed the NAB to decide the pending application within three months as per the law, but the NAB Multan has now required the NAB Lahore to take further action. The petitioner said that he was not informed about the progress of the inquiry. The assets of the two brothers are more than Rs 100 billion. Orders are to be included in the Exit Control List (ECL). Khusro Bakhtiar and Hashim Javan Bakht should be disqualified under Article 63 of the Constitution.
The mandate was given in the name of the South Punjab Front, and it was announced to form a province in 90 days. Four years have passed since.
An FIR was lodged against the plaintiff Raees Mohammad Ahsan Abid at FIA Lahore police station for exposing the corruption of the Makhdoom Khusro family, in which he was allegedly blackmailed.
