The University of Health Sciences successful in treating Corona patients

Lahore, 2nd June: The University of Health Sciences has succeeded in making synthetic antibodies for coronavirus treatment.

Dr. Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences, says that artificial antibodies are being made using the Human Hybridroma technique, which will eliminate the need for plasma in the treatment of corona.

Dr. Javed Akram says that UHS has become the first university in Asia to make synthetic antibodies.

The University of Health Sciences began work on developing antibodies last month, with Dr Javed Akram saying the synthetic antibodies would prevent the coronavirus from entering the human lungs. The same project has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1954.

Dr. Javed Akram said that the University of Health Sciences has already started treatment of corona patients with blood plasma, not only that but also the University of Health Sciences has started RTPCR test for coronavirus. Health Sciences will also begin work on stem cell therapy to treat COVID-19.

Leading hematologist of Pakistan Dr. Tahir Shamsi says that plasma is extracted from the patient by machine.

Dr. Tahir Shamsi further said that they will work together with all the governments for the treatment of Corona patients. Corona patients with Plasma Technique will not need to be put on ventilator. Corona recovery patients are able to donate plasma every 2 weeks. if a patient weighs less than 25 kg, a plasma can be given to 2 people.

The decision on plasma technique will be taken by the federation in a day or two. Balochistan and KP will also take a decision in this regard this week while Sindh and Punjab are on board for treatment with plasma technique.

Dr. Tahir Shamsi further said that it is the responsibility of the people who have recovered from Corona to donate plasma. Recovered people should come forward to save the lives of their brothers and sisters.
