TI Pakistan expressed reservations over the Companies’ Act amendments

ISLAMABAD: Corruption watchdog Transparency International Pakistan has expressed concerns over amendments to the Companies Act.

Transparency International Pakistan has expressed its concerns in a letter to the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Azam Khan, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Supreme Court.

The letter said that the government has made 10 different amendments to the Companies Act and a complaint has been received,in this regard in which serious objections have been raised.

The letter said that the amendments to the Companies Act were against the interests of Pakistan and some companies could take unfair advantage of these amendments.

The letter said the amendments to the Companies Act were against the principles of doing business honestly and would help those with anonymous assets abroad.
