Tickled stingray laughing is actually suffocating to death #Baaghi

Lahore, 2nd July: People think when they tickle a Stingray, it laughs, however, it has been found that it is dangerous to tickle the marine animal.

A tickled stingray laughing is actually suffocating to death. The two dots above the sting ray’s mouth are not eyes, in fact, they are the nostrils and the movement of these body parts indicates the animal is distress and struggling to breathe.

Two weeks a video went viral where it was shown how a stingray laughs when a person tickles it. On the contrary, experts said that the tickled sting ray was actually suffocating to death.

The video clip, posted on June 7, features a baby stingray opening its mouth wide when a person touches its belly with gloved hands.

Experts tell that the two dots above the stingray’s mouth are not eyes but nostrils and the contraction of them indicates the animal’s distress and that it is struggling to breathe.

However, experts have now said the expression on the marine creature’s face is indicating that the animal is suffocating to death.

Ben Williamson, a programs director of the nonprofit organization World Animal Protection in the US, told Insider that ‘like fish, stingrays have the capacity to feel pain. The stingray is clearly suffocating to death after being tickled.’

Mr. Williamson added that like all animals, stingrays should be left alone to live their lives in peace and free from human interference and harm.
