ISLAMABAD — October 13, 2025: The Federal Cabinet has unanimously declared Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) a banned organisation under the Anti-Terrorism Act, acting on a Ministry of Interior summary submitted at the request of the Punjab Government. Officials cited the group’s recurrent violent mobilisations since 2016 in violation of undertakings made after the previous 2021 ban, concluding that TLP’s conduct constitutes terrorism and warrants proscription to preserve public order nationwide.

Analysts say the Ankara round will test whether the Doha understanding matures into a durable frontier-stabilisation mechanism contingent on Taliban restraint of groups including the TTP.
Cross-border trade at Chaman, suspended for ten days amid escalated hostilities, has entered phased restoration. More than 300 stranded trucks are being cleared under strict monitoring as part of a three-step normalisation plan following an “immediate ceasefire” understanding in Doha.
