TLP Protests: Govt to take strict action, mobile services to be suspended

Lahore, 13th April: The government has ordered to take strict action against the lawbreakers after huge protests were carried out in major cities across the country.

According to Baaghi TV’s reports, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has issued orders on Tuesday to take action against those who break the law and order regarding the countrywide protests by the workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP).

Interior Minister chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review the law and order situation in the country following the protests by TLP workers that erupted in major cities yesterday after the arrest of their chief Saad Hussain Rizvi.

He has issued orders to reopen the entry and exit points of major cities after huge road blockades disrupted the traffic on Monday.

Sheikh Rasheed has also ordered to suspend the mobile and internet services in the affected areas for 24 hours.

The minister has issued orders to take strict action against those who violate the law during the protests and take necessary steps to reopen routes for the regular flow of traffic in the cities.

The high-level meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Chief Commissioner, Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, while, chief secretary and IG Punjab joined via video link.
