Federal Minister warns against internal unrest, says hostile forces exploiting religious sentiment to destabilize the country.

ISLAMABAD — October 13, 2025: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said on Friday that India, after facing defeat in its “battle of truth,” is now attempting to sow internal discord in Pakistan through its local facilitators and propaganda networks.

Speaking to reporters, the minister warned that the role of Fitna Khawarij in these destabilizing attempts has become increasingly evident and poses a serious threat to national unity. He said the timing and motives behind recent attempts to incite unrest under the guise of religious activism must be carefully examined.

Referring to the situation in the Middle East, Ahsan Iqbal noted that following a complete ceasefire in Gaza — with the Palestinian leadership and even Hamas signing a peace agreement — there is no justification for street agitation in Pakistan under religious slogans. “When peace is being restored in Gaza, how can chaos in Pakistan serve any cause except that of the enemy?” he questioned.

The minister said a religious group that had “slept on the streets for two years” was now once again trying to manipulate public sentiment by calling for marches toward Islamabad and provoking violence. “Such actions,” he warned, “only benefit hostile forces seeking to derail Pakistan’s stability and economic progress.”

Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that Pakistan is currently at a critical juncture, where peace, unity, and economic recovery must take precedence over division and extremism. “Those who are playing with the peace and stability of Pakistan are, in fact, facilitating the enemies of the country,” he said, adding that no responsible nation can tolerate such elements or allow them to harm national interests.
