Trailer released for Iqra Aziz Starrer ‘Jhooti’

Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz, who recently tied the knot with her comedian fiancé, Yasir Hussain is set to appear in her latest project titled, Jhooti

According to reports, Aziz’s upcoming series Jhooti like the popular drama, Merey Pass Tum Ho, has garnered much negative attention prior to its television debut. Audiences across the board have accused the play of of misrepresenting a deep-rooted issue of the Pakistani society. Based on the recently released teasers for the series, it has been assessed that the series may be centered around the idea of domestic violence in marriage and the possible ‘lies’ told by women in such instances.

The three minute and thirty-eight second long teaser introduces the central cast, namely Iqra Aziz and Ahmed Ali Butt while, also depicting their marriage and the issues between them. The teaser shows Aziz post-marriage making fun of her shopkeeper husband and in-laws. Another teaser approximately one minute and ten second long shows Iqra Aziz pretending to be a victim of domestic abuse.

Jhooti is set to premier on ARY Digital under the directorship of Syed Ramsi Rizvi, and is produced by Abdullah Saija. It will also feature Aziz’s husband, Yasir Hussain.
