Training of Muharrir, IOs to be conducted on priority basis

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that modern professional training of police force in accordance with modern requirements is my first priority for improving process of protection of citizens life. In this regard, upgradation of training courses alongwith supply of modern resources to all training colleges will remain continued. He directed RPOs, DPOs to start refresher training courses for capacity building of Muharrir, investigating officers and other staff in every district so that they could protect lives and property of people in better way. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that best facilities should be provided to trainee officers and personnel in all training colleges of the province.

IG Punjab said that interrogation system should be further improved for enhancing performance of police and special attention should be paid to effective use of modern technology and practice to secure evidence during the training. IG Punjab said that officers and officials working in field should also be imparted modern training refresher courses. He also directed to invite experts from different departments to training colleges for delivering special guidance lectures to officials based upon their experiences.
He issued these directions while giving instructions to officers on occasion of his visit to Police Training College, Chung today. Commandant Police Training College Chung briefed IG Punjab about recruitment courses, training curriculum, investigation school and other professional matters. IG Punjab reviewed facilities available for investigating officers in the School of Investigation. During visit to the hostels, IG Punjab directed that best facilities be provided to trainee officers in accordance with standard hygienic measures so that trainee officers and staff could focus on training with full attention.
He said that if there is a need to upgrade curriculum then it should be upgraded in line with requirements of modern times and effective use of information technology in policing process must be ensured. IG Punjab further said that by improving quality of training of the force, we can better perform our duty of service and protection of citizens and supervisory officers will have to play their role effectively in this regard.
