Turkish Govt removes Ertugrul Ghazi Statue
A statue of “Ertugrul Ghazi” has been removed in the Turkish province of Ordu for resembling Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan.
According to international media reports, statues of other Turkish historical figures, including Ertugrul Ghazi, were erected in the Turkish province of Ordu as part of a project, but when a picture of Ertugrul Ghazi’s statue went viral on social media, users identified that the statue resembles actor Engin Altan.
Engin Altan is a Turkish actor who has played the role of Ertugrul Ghazi in the Turkish series “Diriliş: Ertuğrul”.
Notably, statues of Ertugrul and several other historical figures were erected as part of a project.
The busts of Ertugrul stirred debate after social media users noticed it resembled actor Duzyatan at first glance.
The newspaper reported that municipal officers and administration have removed the bust and launched an investigation.
