TV anchor Hamid Mir banned from hosting his show on Geo News
Lahore, 31st May: Pakistan’s renowned journalist and anchorperson Hamid Mir has been barred from hosting his program on Geo News.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, private TV channel Geo News has banned Hamid Mir to host his program ‘Capital Talk’.
According to informed sources, the famous talk show will now continue without Hamid Mir.
A famous journalist, Waseem Abbasi announced on Twitter that the program Capital Talk will now continue without Hamid Mir.

Abbasi wrote, “However, Hamid Mir Sahib is part of the Jang Group. Muhammad Junaid or someone from Karachi will temporarily host the show.”
Meanwhile, renowned anchorperson Mubasher Lucman also tweeted on his official Twitter account about the latest development.

President National Press Club Shakeel Anjum has also confirmed the ban on the Capital Talk program.
Hamid Mir will also be present at the main press conference conducted by PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb at the National Press Club today.
Replying to a fellow journalist’s tweet on Twitter on May 31st, Hamid Mir wrote that ‘this is nothing new for me, as I was banned twice in the past.’

Mir added, “I had lost jobs twice, survived assassination attempts but cannot stop raising voice for the rights given in the constitution.”
Pointing to the institutions, Hamid Mir said that this time he is ready for any consequences and ready to go to any extent because they are threatening his family.
It should be noted that journalists in Islamabad had protested after an attack on journalist Asad Toor took place last week.
Anchorperson Hamid Mir had criticized the institutions in this regard, after which he faced severe backlash from social media users who had demanded his arrest.
Meanwhile, the management of Geo News said that Hamid Mir is on leave.
On the other hand, the sources also say that Hamid Mir is getting offers from other news channels. It is not yet clear whether Hamid Mir has resigned or has been removed from the post.
