UAE announces renewal of its work visa policies

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) now allows new visas for immigrants to work without an employer-sponsored job.
According to foreign media reports, the rules and regulations of residence have also been relaxed under the new visa. For the first time in the country, even minors have been allowed to work part-time. The aim is to promote the country’s economic development.
Foreigners in the UAE are usually issued only limited visas that are related to their employment. Under the old UAE laws, it is complicated for foreigners to stay there for a long time.

As per the international news outlets, people owning the new green visa can work without having their employer’s company’s sponsorship. Secondly, they will be free to sponsor their families up to the age of 25.
According to media reports, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Sani bin Ahmed Al-Zayudi, while announcing the new scheme, said that it is highly skilled people, investors, businessmen, entrepreneurs, and under and postgraduate students with extraordinary talents.

Reports also claim that the green visa holders will not be barred from staying for a while. In this regard, it is said, “Under the announced new law, people above the age of 15 will also be allowed to work for the first time.”
International Media states, people over the age of 15 will be given a temporary work permit. They will be allowed to work part-time without dropping out of school. Teenagers living in the UAE can apply for a part-time job will be authorized.
We should note that the UAE had issued a 10-year Golden Visa in 2019, intending to attract rich people and highly skilled workers to the UAE. This was the first scheme of its kind in the Gulf. They are also trying to attract foreigners as Qatar has started to include foreigners in its property market.
