Aug 11, 2021: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has once again revised its travel rules for its residents living in Pakistan and five other countries, exempting them from carrying the COVID 19 vaccination certificate on their way to Dubai.

According to a travel advisory issued by the national flag carrier Emirates, passengers from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda who have valid UAE resident visas will be allowed to travel to and from Dubai.

However, travelers from these states must obtain prior approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs.

Passengers will also be required to present a valid COVID 19 negative certificate within 48 hours between the sample submission and the flight departure schedule.

Additionally, according to the travel advisory, for entry in to the UAE, Only COVID 19 PCR test reports from certified labs that issue the QR code attached to the original report will be accepted.

Passengers will have to undergo a COVID 19 PCR Rapid Test four hours before the departure of their flight for UAE, which will be repeated upon arrival in Dubai.

It was further stated that rapid antigen test will not be accepted. The advisory said that UAE nationals have been exempted from the new travel advisory, but will have to undergo a Covid 19 PCR test upon arrival in Dubai.

He noted that all passengers except UAE nationals who had been in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Uganda for the past 14 days would not be allowed to enter Dubai.
