The explanation comes amid reports that the UAE has made it mandatory for passengers traveling from Pakistan to the UAE to carry a certified Covid19 certificate. According to a report published in Gulf News, Covid 19 vaccination certificate should be verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan and then through the UAE Embassy in Islamabad or the Consulate in Karachi. The report further claims that the new rule for Pakistani travelers will come into effect from August 1, with diplomats, officials and holders of golden visas being no exception.
The UAE last month extended travel bans on passengers from Pakistan and 13 other countries until at least July 21. The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, in a notice issued to Airmen (NOTAM), said that flights from Pakistan and 13 other countries, including Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam , India, Bangladesh, Nepal. Sri Lanka, Nigeria and South Africa will be suspended until 23:59 on July 21, 2021. “Along with cargo flights, business and charter flights will also be exempted from the restrictions,” the notification added.
