The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has imposed a condition on the passengers to have a COVID 19 PCR rapid test 4 hours before the departure of their flight, however, rapid antigen test will not be accepted.

According to the details, it has become impossible for Pakistani travellers to travel to Dubai at present after UAE imposed a new condition for passengers coming from Pakistan. Pakistani passengers will have to submit a Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) rapid test report four hours before their departure.

Baaghi TV has learnt through reliable sources that currently, none of the airports in Pakistan have the PCR rapid test facility. Not only that, Pakistani passengers must also submit a COVID-19 PCR report 72 hours in advance. More than 3,000 passengers from across the country have not been able to travel to Dubai since yesterday, as no hospital or lab in Pakistan can perform rapid PCR Test.

Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and all the other major and minor airports do not have the facility to perform a rapid PCR test.

It has been learnt that passengers, since yesterday, have been facing severe difficulties in the scorching heat, when they were sent from counter to counter and eventually told that there is no such facility at the Pakistani airports. During this time, people have been seen to be very upset along with their children, the children are crying and the parents are also in a state of shock over their helplessness.

Emirates, on the other hand, refused to take passengers without a rapid PCR test four hours prior to the departure after which the passengers going to Dubai were stopped at Jinnah Airport.

Airport officials said passengers did not have a rapid PCR report, which prevented boarding cards from being issued. Passengers wanted to fly to Dubai via Emirates flight # EK601, however boarding cards were not issued to more than 300 passengers traveling from Islamabad to Dubai.

It may be recalled that the UAE had allowed Pakistanis with resident visas to come. According to the UAE government, passengers who have been fully vaccinated for 2 weeks will be able to come.

On the other hand, Indian nationals have faster PCR testing facilities at 34 international airports. Some of the big names in these airports are: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Mangalore and Ahmedabad. The UAE has also stated that it has developed a program to provide mobile facility of PCR test on the spot for those coming to their country including Pakistan, for which steps are being taken.

Moreover, the passengers have requested the Prime Minister to take notice of this inconvenience and resolve the issues with the UAE government as soon as possible to get the Pakistanis out of trouble.
