London (19th June, 2019): Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, claims Britain wants Pakistan to take back thousands of Pakistanis.

According to Baaghi TV’s reports, Pakistan’s FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi believes Britain has asked Pakistan to take back its migrants who have “overstayed” their visa in the UK.

At a press conference in the Pakistan High Commission (PHC), FM Qureshi said that the UK government wants Pakistan to sign a “re-admission treaty” so that “over-stayers” and illegal immigrants can be sent back.

He stated, “We have initiated dialogue on this. This will help those who are genuine visa applicants. This will help Pakistan more.”

According to The News, approximately four million illegal immigrants are currently residing in the UK of which nearly 30,000 belong to Pakistan.

He further discussed that in his last visit to the UK he had met with the Pakistani community and ensured them of the opportunities provided by Pakistan. He continued to mention that the government is committed to the welfare of its people.

According to reports, FM Qureshi believes in the potential of young Pakistani entrepreneurs including those who are expatriots. He even requested the UK diaspora to invest in various sectors across Pakistan to boost the country’s economy as well as benefiting ties between the two states.

However, while UK is willing to send back migrants it does not want perhaps it will be a perfect opportunity to return absconders such as Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Ishaq Dar who have been provided security so, that Pakistan can deal with them as per its laws.
