The UN envoy condemned the attack on the airport in the Iraqi city of Erbil during a meeting of the Security Council on progress in Iraq. “The fight against ISIS needs to continue for the stability of Iraq,” she said.

Earlier, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Iraq condemned the rocket attack in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. A civilian contractor was killed and several others, including a U.S. soldier, were injured in the attack. She stressed the need for closer cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil and said that Erbil and Baghdad should work together to bring the perpetrators of sabotage to justice.
