The people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have sought urgent intervention of the United Nations to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute as it is a threat to regional and global peace.

The United Nations must act speedily to address the simmering IIOJK situation and fulfill its obligations towards the Kashmiri people.

The people of Kashmir expect the UN to uphold its commitments viz-a-viz their right to self-determination and ensure that its resolutions on Kashmir must be implemented in letter and spirit.

The Modi regime unilaterally repealed the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated it into two union territories on 5 August 2019, telling the world it doesn’t care about UN resolutions on Kashmir.

The UN must step in to halt illegal actions of the Modi regime of changing demography of IIOJK by settling non-Kashmiris there.

It must also play its role to stop systematic killing of Kashmiris by Indian troops and must bring India to book for brazen violations of UN resolutions on Kashmir.
