May 3, 2021:According to the report of Baaghi TV, the PTI foreign funding case was heard by scrutiny committee. Akbar S. Babar’s request for use of laptop was rejected in the meeting of the scrutiny committee.
The election commission said that Akbar S Babar was allowed to view the decision of the committee from April 14, and was allowed the review of records and documents, the decision did not allow any electronic machine. Akbar S Babar’s request to use the laptop during the review of the record, was rejected and the decision was given by Chief Election Commission Sikandar Sultan Raja and members Nisar Durrani and Shah Mohammad Jatoi said that the ECP said that the decision of the ECP on April 14 should be implemented by the scrutiny committee and the parties.
The parties should not raise unnecessary issues and objections. After the last hearing, Akbar S. Babar had said that no progress was made today. The proceedings were stalled all day today. The chartered accountant needs a laptop. When the proceedings started, the Election Commission officer used a laptop.
We have applied to the scrutiny committee to stop the use of laptops. The scrutiny committee has rejected our request. The scrutiny committee is an obstacle in all this process. We have no confidence in the scrutiny committee and now we have requested ECP to allow us to use laptop or computer.
It is to be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had said he has no problem with the foreign funding case being aired on National television and he challeeged that he is open to the idea of an open hearing of the foreign funding case which was accepted by the PML-N. OF course, the foreign funding case should be shown live on TV, but the case should be heard in front of sitting the party leaders.
